Snapshots of Summer

Monday, 6 October 2014

A few weeks ago, I launched a project called 'Snapshots of Summer', which invited you all to send in polaroids of your summer - or more specifically, ones which captured a memorable moment. So here is that!

'I was flying home from Copenhagen with my sister, and we were on the first rank.  Because my sister and I had of course way too much luggage, I had asked her to wear my polaroid camera around her neck. It did not go long before the steward asked us about it, loving the concept of polaroids himself. So we talked a bit and later on I asked him to take one of my sister and I. He was of course happy to oblige and because of the little space he had (you have to be around 2 meters away at least from your subject) he had to put himself into such hilarious positions. That was a great moment. But not enough with that, he came back later and asked me if I could not, in my turn, take a picture of him. That was just a magic bonus. He wanted to sit on his seat and act like he was talking on the phone. It was so funny to get up in front of everybody of the plane and take a picture of the steward. Probably something I won’t forget.'

A huge thank you to everyone who sent in polaroids - I hope their warm memories keep you going for the cold months to come. And to those who didn't, don't fret: collabs coming soon.
